What We Do
WAIH pursues several core activity areas in support of its mission statement, goal, and objectives.
GOAL
The main goal of WAIH is to work for social justice, increased human security and women’s empowerment through economic, social and livelihood programs creating opportunities while addressing inequality, strengthening families and community engagements in Cameroon.
Specific Objectives
- To provide support, coaching, mentoring to women and women agri-entrepreneurs to grow their businesses, access new markets and reach bankable status.
- To link women Self Help Groups (SHGs) with the donor community through which women-agri- entrepreneurs can develop and upscale their businesses.
- To facilitate partnerships by engaging the public and private sectors in the drive to bring new technology, and adoption of gender-sensitive climate-smart agricultural practices.

- To reduce gender-specific barriers to women’s participation in social, economic and political life at local and national levels.
- To improve health, education, employment or livelihoods for women through women empowerment initiatives.
Core Activities
- Training target groups across a wide range of subject matters, including leadership development, Sexual Reproductive Health Advocacy, business management, agriculture, value chain and food processing.
- Facilitation of group formation by smallholder farmers/entrepreneurs and the vulnerable and voiceless to create sustainable socioeconomic networks for strength and support.
- Facilitation of sustainable linkages to markets and financial opportunities for women groups.
- Promotion of improved family nutrition and food preservation
- Sourcing and promotion of improved agricultural technologies, including ICT and financial inclusion.
- Prevention all forms of violence on women and girls, women empowerment and human rights with focus on health and education issues.
